Onwards and Upwards (a degree or two)

We're leaving for Cape Verde in a couple of hours. No package unfortunately; after visiting DHL at the airport, customs wanted more than the value of the package in duty. No budging; so we told them where to shove it (well back to the UK, to be specific). Frustrating but glad to be finally on the move, camera etc or no camera etc. We are planning only a very brief stop in CV, restocking etc, then on to Brazil. Expected to be on the other side by the end of the month, if all goes to plan. Nick out.

Bloody Customs..... When you get to the Caribbean, dont forget to put on your clean shirt and decent shorts...its very important and can make all the difference to the way you're treated!
Hope your voyage to CV is/has gone well,
Safe sailing, fair winds,
Love

Message from Nick & John. They arrived in Cape V. at 2.00 this morning and Nick rang me whilst John was off doing the customs bit. He asked me to add this to the site as they're not sure how accessible the internet is in CV. Their crossing was fine and included a 45 knot squall and a flying fish that hit John in the head! They have jobs to do on the boat and expect to be there 4-6 days before setting off for Brazil.
Good luck boys!
