La Palma

Quick post to say John and I are still alive and well, still in La Palma, still taking things rather easily. The facilities here are the best yet - big swimming pool, cafe and bar in the club nautico. Across the road does excellent steak and 5 minutes in to town gives a large selection of places to drink beer if one is feeling exotic and wants to drink in different surroundings. So hence we've hardly left the compound this last week or, infact, achieve anything other than book reading. Couple of downers - had camera stolen here this week, so no piccies i'm afraid. Will try and replace it today, and thankfully we didn't lose many photos. Also we're stuck here waiting for some books from Amazon to arrive - teach yourself portoguese (also hopefully how to spell it), brazil guide book, kakuro puzzle book - and DHL seems to be having real problems getting it shipped here. It's been all round Spain, and the last update was: September 01, 2006 10:06 Las Palmas - Canary Islands, The Shipment arrived at wrong facility. Express indeed. So anywho, assuming that comes through we're sailing to La Gomera (12 hours sail) to see some whistling, then to Senegal (8 days), and to Cape Verde Islands (5 days). By the end of the month we'll be looking at leaving to cross for Brazil. So blog updates will be even less regular in the next couple of months. I shall get John to do an update before we leave. Bye.

Your white LED light has arrived - what do you want done with it?

Hi, good to hear all well on the canaries.
Posier marina on other side of island, hellish drive but good sail I would imagine.Less noted for its nightlife (and pilfering)
Hope legs on to more exotic climes go well. How's the cyclone predictions? anything to concern intrepid rebelers?
